Bio

Erin Seekamp is the Executive Director of the Climate and Sustainability Academy and Goodnight Distinguished Professor in Coastal Resilience and Sustainability. Her faculty appointment resides within the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management in the College of Natural Resources. She is also an NC State University Faculty Scholar and NC State Alumni Association Distinguished Graduate Professor. Her social science research focuses on partnerships, decision-making, adaptive planning and capacity building in multiple contexts, including community climate readiness, cultural and natural resource governance, and coastal tourism destinations. She engages with the communities she studies by building project advisory teams, uses deliberative science (co-production) approaches, and conducts interactive outreach workshops.
