Bio
I am an interdisciplinary scholar in urban resilience and environmental design whose research sits at the intersection of urban planning, spatial sociology, and disaster risk reduction. My research examines how ordinary, everyday interactions between people and their built environments generate cumulative frictions that can unequally strengthen or erode residents’ adaptive capacity to cope with acute shocks, such as hurricanes and floods. I am currently in the fourth year of my PhD in Design at North Carolina State University and have engaged in student leadership and service through my involvement in the Graduate Student Association.
